Sandy's Birthday Party 18. August 2006

For all those who missed the party, here some impressions :-)

Sandy and Benny baked
their first Sachertorte.
It was delicious!!!

Some guests became very creative…

The messages they wrote for Sandy:

Vor 31 Jahren kam ein Baby angefahren,
ohne Strümpfe und ohne Schuh,
liebe Sandy das warst du!!! (D)

Liebe Sandy,
Hope you are having a
wonderful birthday evening-
its fantastic here.
A very special flower for you! (S)

Liebe Sandy,
geniesse dein Leben beständig, den tu bist länger tod als lebendig. (V)

Other guests connected...

Benny and Christian had a very long talk and found out that they have a lot of things in common… so they decided to get to know each other more intensively…

... wondering what they have been talking about? (world issues? terrorismn? economics? politics? the influence alcohol have on some ppl? maybe even about one very nice, sexy, funny, inteligent AIESEC member???)

To sum up:

  • The food was delicious ( Thank you Sonja, Sandy and Benny!)
  • The place was really nice decorated and our hostess amazing.
  • We had a lot of fun!
  • if you have something more to say, post a comment!!!

Peru - foods of diversity

Peru is a country of great diversity. With over 1.2 million sq km, it has such different parts as coast (Costa), mountains (Sierra) and jungle (Selva).

Today one of my coworkers has a birthday. And this is the reason why we all went to a restaurant, that serves very typical food from southern part of Peru – from Arequipa. This is typical even for Limaños.

The food served is among others: pig’s feet, cow’s udder, bull’s testicles (very tasty indeed), and my personal favorite, the cuy. I won’t tell you what is it, you will have to find out. But I must admit, it’s very tasty.

And drinks – one typical drink from that region (specially Cusco and Andes) is Chicha de jora, which is made from maize. And after food you can drink anis. It’s stronger drink, similar to Turkish rakı or Greek ouzo. And the way you drink it – you get a small bottle (approx. 10 cl) that is circling at the table. And it should be finished with the last person. If not the bottle is not finished, or gets empty earlier, you need to order another round.

And of course the most typical one – pisco sour. But let me write about it another time.

OK, and what would be the most "exotic" and strange food you have ever tasted? Share that in comments.
Or tell me if you have figured out, what cuy is.

Vorarlberg

Over the weekend Kaisa, Sabine and me visited Benjamin, who was the perfect host and guide through Vorarlberg, lake of Constance and Liechtenstein. After visiting Vorarlberg I do understand why
do other parts of country make constantly jokes about it: they are only jealous.
Vorarlberg is a little piece of heaven on earth!!!!

SEX I.D. - Find out how your mind works!

Guys here’s the test that you were informed about finally

Some researchers say that men can have 'women's brains' and that women can think more like men.

I investigated a bit and found out some scientific explanations to it and here’s one of the articles that I came across online:

The sex of a brain is decided in the mother’s womb and depends, among other factors, on hormone levels. Higher levels of testosterone makes a male brain and oestrogen a female one. "The theory is that the sex difference in the sex organs develops early in pregnancy - in the first few months while in utero - while sexual differentiation of the brain occurs later in the second half of pregnancy and postnatally." That would mean certain factors could interfere with the sexual differentiation of the sex organs and brain in an independent way because there is a time lapse between the two.

Here’s a link to find out the SEX I.D. of your brain:

Something to ponder (funny) : D

I also found pictures of a male and a female brain and ya, it’s interesting to analyse in which aspects I would like to think more like a man :D
